The article defines the importance of development of a meat subcomplex in ensuring food security. The authors have analyzed the meat subcomplex of the Penza region. On the basis of the theory of medium-term cycles of economic processes, the researchers justify the forecast indicators of production of meat and meat products and work out the strategy of development of meat subcomplex, aimed at ensuring food security of the region.
